Weee Directive and Legislation

There are a few companies that will capitalise on the confusing minefield of regulatory guidelines At Capasset UK we operate strictly under the Weee directive (as it applies to to all electronic equipment disposal) in most circumstances by using Capasset you will be transferring ownership of your equipment to our ownership and with it the responsibility of adhering to the Weee directive.

No charges are made based on compliance the exception is if your site produces over an average of 1000 tonnes per year in a three year period, even then we can guide you through applying for the required permits and filing the notifications with the Environment Agency.

In most cases your compliance with regulation is included as part of our service, all the relevant documentation that is required will be supplied for your records.

Zero Landfill policy

Cap Asset operates a Zero Landfill policy, when equipment is considered a waste product we will dismantle for spares and secure recycling, component parts will be processed by specialist plastic recyclers, metal recyclers and smelters.

This service will be conducted in accordance with The Environmental Protection Act 1990, The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) and Hazardous Waste Regulations.

The Weee legislation primarily aims to reduce equipment going to landfill, with our zero landfill policy we already go beyond the regulation aims.

We can provide certification of compliance for the environmental disposal of electrical equipment. To discuss your CSR policy then please call us 0845 2500 614
