Buying process tour - buying process

End user retires equipment

Your equipment is no longer cost effective for you to continue to repair, upgrade, or otherwise maintain, so it has, for you, reached the end of its lifecycle. However, for us, its life has just begun.

The pace of technology quickly makes used equipment obsolete, so the sooner you decide that to realise the asset the more value you will get in return. In just a year you can expect the value to depreciate by 80%, even a few months will have an impact so act now before the asset becomes a liability.

Even so, the decision to retire your equipment can be a difficult one, but we would like to make that decision less difficult by purchasing your surplus. If you've been delaying the replacement of your outdated equipment because you think you can't afford it, we can make it a little easier by turning your used equipment into starting capital towards its replacement.

Send us a list of what you have to sell, make, model, serial number and known specification, we understand that sometimes the label is illegible or just hard to find in that case try and provide other information that will help us. The more information we have the quicker we can make you an offer and help you make an informed decision about surplus recovery.

Alternatively, we can arrange a visit to your facilities to examine the equipment first hand. To arrange a visit Call 0845 2500 614 or Email .

The list of used computer equipment

Our ability to help you doesn't begin until we can actually see what equipment you are going to retire. Take a little time right now to write down what equipment you may no longer need, or you are replacing.

If you are not a seasoned IT manager this is how we suggest you compile your list.
The easiest way to identify equipment is with the model number, this is normally found on a label on the rear or bottom of the equipment. This label provides more information than the generic badge/label found on the front or on the casing.

Sometimes the label is illegible or just hard to find in that case try and provide other information that will help us. The more information we have the quicker we can make you an offer and help you make an informed decision about surplus recovery.

Select Additional Services

If the equipment contains sensitive data then you may want to use our data wiping, destruction service or removal of confidential information and labelling. Deleting files or even formatting the drive can be recovered easily by anyone skilled at data recovery.

Data Wiping

Data wiping is the process by which the information on hard drives, CDs, Video/Dat tapes is permanently deleted. This goes beyond simply reformatting or over-writing the drive, and data wiping should not be taken lightly. The information on a drive that has been cleared by traditional methods (deleting files or even reformatting the drive) can be recovered easily by anyone skilled at data recovery. Find out more about Data Wiping.

Destruction / Shredding

This is when we physically destroy the drives with any stored data with an industrial disintegrator, the drives are cut and ground into small particles and then passed through a screen from 50mm down to 2mm in the extreme. The fragments are then re-cycled by a smelter absolutely destroying any trace of data. We can provide a certificate of destruction to document the secure destruction of confidential data. Should you require to witness the destruction we can arrange for your witness to be present or alternatively we can shred the drives at your premises.

De-Labelling used equipment

One of the most important services we provide the companies whose equipment we purchase is the transfer of responsibility. From that moment on, the equipment it is in our competent hands. One of the ways we make sure that your equipment is no longer associated with your company is by removing all labels you may have attached while it was in your possession. We do this without any cost to you as a standard part of our check-in process. Through a simple process with solvent and de-labelling tools, we remove any trace of its former ownership.
